How to Disable the Internet Explorer Phishing Filter

To disable the phishing filter:

Load Internet Explorer.
Select the Tools menu and click Internet Options.
Click the Advanced tab, and scroll down near the bottom of the list then select the “Disable Phishing Filter radio button

Click OK and restart Internet Explorer.

Whilst the phishing filter is a good idea which provides additional security when visiting sites that may attempt to extract personal information from you, it has been reported that some people are having troubles with it, from poor performance to IE crashing.

Its worth noting that Microsoft has released a knowledge base article about this, with a patch which may help. You can check out this article here: Microsoft Knowledge Base Article 928089

This article is for Internet Explorer 7 running on XP, 2003 and Vista.
